William Kaufman
Attorney & President
Bill is president of the firm. He is the current legislative counsel to the Real Estate Council of San Antonio and is former General Counsel to the San Antonio Building Owners and Managers Association, the San Antonio Apartment Association and the San Antonio Development Agency. As a former Assistant City Attorney for the City of San Antonio, he has extensive experience in handling various municipal matters involving zoning, platting, municipal contracting, environmental issues and municipal solid waste.
His clients needing assistance at City Hall have ranged from real estate developers, Public Improvement Districts, billboard companies, hotels, contractors, telecommunication companies, trade associations, landfills, solar farms and river barge operators to homeowner associations, churches, schools, universities and other non-profit associations. Areas of practice have included selection and negotiation of concession contracts, demolition of structures, professional contracts, tax phase-in, and license and lease agreements. Bill has also represented clients before the Bexar County Commissioners Court and many other municipalities and counties. Bill is registered as a lobbyist with the City of San Antonio.
Bill has been the lead attorney representing business associations, real estate developers and property owners in the adoption of many City of San Antonio ordinances. These include the Water Quality Ordinance, Historic Preservation Ordinance, Urban Corridor Ordinance, Landscape Ordinance, Noise Ordinance, Billboard Ordinance, Tree Ordinance, Sign Ordinance, Traffic Impact Analysis Ordinance, Right of Way Street Management Ordinance and the Unified Development Code amendments.
Bill has a long history of community leadership, having served as the president or chairman of multiple boards and San Antonio organizations.
